- Nothing is running right now, but that changes in two days.
- Hyperia City hits general retail on October 23, the biggest date on the calendar this week.
- Six competitive events follow before November 2, including a Challenge in Bangkok and a pair of CCQs in Osaka back to back.
- Rapunzel - Escaping the Tower is down 25% this week, from $28.11 to $21.09, and that window may not last.
The next ten days are the busiest stretch Lorcana has seen in a while. A new set, a major international Challenge, and five qualifying events all land before November 2. Here is what is actually happening and what you should do about it.
Hyperia City launches at general retail on Friday, October 23. That is the one to put in your calendar first, because everything else this week flows from it. The two CCQs in Osaka are both Hyperia City events.
The Bangkok Challenge is Hyperia City. The UK qualifiers are Hyperia City. Every competitive event in this stretch is asking the same question: what does this set do to the format?
The honest answer is that nobody knows yet, including the players who have been testing for weeks. The first data will come out of Bangkok and Osaka, and those results will do more to shape what you should build than anything else happening right now.
Speculation is fair here: the Osaka Wave-1 CCQ runs October 31, and Wave-2 follows immediately on November 1. Two qualifiers at the same venue on back-to-back days is unusual, and it means Osaka is producing a meaningful sample of Hyperia City results in a single weekend.
What the competitive calendar actually looks like
Through the Decades Collectibles CCQ in Kentucky goes first, on October 24. Championship qualifiers earn you a spot at a higher-level event, so winning one matters beyond the weekend itself. This is not a local league night; it is the kind of event worth travelling for if you are chasing Championship points.
The first data will come out of Bangkok and Osaka, and those results will do more to shape what you should build than anything else happening right now.
Disney Lorcana Challenge Bangkok 2026 starts October 30. Challenge events sit above most CCQs in terms of prestige and prize support. Bangkok is the one this week that will draw eyes across the community, and the results there will be the first real test of the new set at that level of play.
Then Osaka: Wave-1 CCQ on October 31, Wave-2 CCQ on November 1. Two events, one city, one weekend. If a deck looks broken in Hyperia City, those results are probably where it shows up first.
Back in the UK, two events run simultaneously with Osaka. The Inkbound Invitational Qualifier 1 for Hyperia City starts October 31, and the Hunny Alliance Cup Team Trio, also a qualifying event, starts November 1. Team Trio formats play differently from solo events, so if you have a crew, that one is worth looking up specifically.
What the price feed is saying
Three cards moved hard this week, and the direction matters.
Angela - Night Warrior went from $2.10 to $2.83, up 35%. That is a signal worth watching. A card at that price point with that kind of momentum usually means players are picking it up ahead of a set where they expect it to matter.
Hercules - Mighty Leader dropped 25%, from $4.82 to $3.60. If you wanted him, this week is cheaper than last week.
Rapunzel - Escaping the Tower is the big one. She fell 25% in seven days, from $28.11 to $21.09. That is almost seven dollars off a single card.
Whether she stabilises here or keeps sliding depends on how the Hyperia City format develops. If the events in Osaka and Bangkok show her in winning lists, that floor holds. If she does not show up, it probably keeps moving.
What to actually do this week
If you are a competitive player, pull up the official release and event calendar and check whether any UK events are within reach. The Inkbound Invitational Qualifier and the Hunny Alliance Cup both start October 31, and qualifying events fill up.
If you are not travelling anywhere, the thing to do is simple: get to your local store on October 23, pick up Hyperia City product, and start learning the set before the format figures itself out. The players who understand new cards early are the ones who register the good results in November.
And if you have been waiting on Rapunzel - Escaping the Tower, this is the lowest she has been in the past week. That window may not stay open once Bangkok and Osaka report back.
