Completing a Lorcana set sounds like one goal with one price. It is actually two completely different hobbies wearing the same name, and the gap between them is enormous. Here is what each one costs for Attack of the Vine, priced from live market data.

- Every printing of every card: $7,425.43. The master set, 259 printings, including the chase rarities.
- That is 124 times more for the same set.
- 52 cards cause 99% of it. The other 207 printings together cost less than $60.25.
The playable set: $59.99
One legal copy of all 204 cards, each bought in whatever printing is cheapest. This is the version that matters if you want to build any deck the set allows, because a Common and its Enchanted version are the same card in play.

Read that table from the bottom up. Every Common in the set costs $3.80. Every Uncommon, $4.97. All 126 of them together come to $8.77, which is about 7.0 cents a card. Then the chase rarities arrive and the arithmetic stops making sense.

The pattern is supply, with one caveat worth naming. Attack of the Vine is the cheapest to complete at $59.99 because product is still on shelves. Whispers in the Well costs $421.61 for the same job, but $252.20 of that is a single card: Can't Hold it Back Anymore, printed only at Enchanted rarity, so its cheapest copy is the chase copy. Take that one card out and the set runs $169.41. Sets do not get cheaper as they age, they get harder, but most of this particular number is one card.
So which one should you do?
If you want to play everything the set can do, the answer is $59.99 and you are finished. Build whatever you like, forever, with no card locked behind a chase rarity.
If you want the master set, know what you are signing up for: roughly $7,365.18 of it is those 52 cards, and their prices move week to week. That is a collecting project with a market attached, not a shopping list.
