Chris Oyola of Luxury Gaming walked into the 2026 Disney Lorcana National Championships with a deck nobody expected. While the room was talking Emerald Steel, he registered Amber Steel built around Stitch - Rock Star. - Stitch - Rock Star costs 6 ink, shifts for 4, and draws a card every time you play a character costing 2 or less. The whole deck exists to trigger that ability repeatedly.
- The engine runs on cheap characters. David - Protective Snowboarder at $0.12 is Oyola's non-negotiable include. Stitch - Rock Star himself is $0.59.
- Emerald Steel is the rough matchup. Oyola says so plainly, per AladdinsCastle's video. He lost to it four times.
- Under the Sea is the card to fear. It puts every character with 3 strength or less on the bottom of the deck, and Stitch - Rock Star has 3 strength, so he sits right at that line. His engine pieces do not.
The story starts months earlier than Nationals. Oyola has been trying to make Stitch - Rock Star work since the card existed. His words to AladdinsCastle: "how can I break Rockstar Stitch?" Every new set, same question. He came close at DLC Atlanta, finished 66th, and kept iterating.
What finally clicked was a Pocahontas shift line discovered the morning of the event. He was losing to characters that could move damage around. Pocahontas answered that. He decided at 5:00 AM Saturday, took a game loss for the deck swap, and played anyway.
That's the deck. That's why it's interesting.
The card that makes it run
Stitch - Rock Star reads: "ADORING FANS: Whenever you play a character with cost 2 or less, you may exert them to draw a card." The deck is built to fire that trigger as many times as possible in a single turn.
Shift 4 means you can put him into play for 4 ink on top of any character named Stitch. Oyola runs the new one-drop Stitch to enable it. Hard-playing at 6 is also on the table when the ramp is there. Oyola describes a Pluto into Willow into Pocahontas line that makes it routine.
Once Stitch - Rock Star is down, every cheap character becomes a draw. A version of Mike Wazowski confirmed in the video gives you both triggers when he enters. Oyola describes drawing the entire deck as "common gameplay, not having the nuts."
What keeps it alive
David - Protective Snowboarder has Bodyguard, meaning an opposing character who challenges one of your characters must choose one with Bodyguard if able. He costs 2 ink and has 4 willpower.
That combination matters: he's cheap enough to trigger Stitch - Rock Star's ADORING FANS, and he absorbs challenges that would otherwise hit your smaller pieces. At $0.12 a copy, Oyola calls him a must-include.
Ohana Means Family came up as a discussion point in the video. It removes all damage from a chosen character of yours and draws a card for each damage removed.
At $24.41 it's the most expensive card confirmed in the conversation, and it was raised as a question rather than a confirmed slot. We're reporting it as discussed, not as part of the list.
Where it stops working
Under the Sea costs 8 ink and can be sung for free. It puts all opposing characters with 3 strength or less on the bottom of their players' decks.
Stitch - Rock Star sits right at that line with 3 strength. His engine, the one-drops and two-drops powering ADORING FANS, does not survive it. One resolution strips the board and leaves him with nothing to exert.
Oyola names it directly as "probably your biggest culprit," and notes that a version of Jumba in the list helps. Jumba is mentioned but no version is confirmed on camera, so we're leaving the specifics there.
Cheshire Cat - Inexplicable, at $7.67, costs 3 ink, has 3 strength and 4 willpower, and can move up to 2 damage counters to an opposing character whenever a card goes under it. Oyola's opponent called it out as something to remove. It came up once in passing, not as a deck-building recommendation.
If you don't get rid of it, the game's over.
The matchup picture, attributed where it belongs
According to AladdinsCastle's video, Oyola himself says Emerald Steel is the worst matchup. He lost to it four times at Nationals. Amethyst, he says, plays better for the deck. The broader point he makes is worth keeping: know your matchups and your lines, and you can win games with a deck like this even when the room has moved on.
The case Oyola makes is that the deck is not a meme. Whether it's the right call into a given field is a question only the matchup numbers can answer, and those aren't public yet.
What to actually do with this
If you want to test the shell, start with what's cheap. Stitch - Rock Star is $0.59. David - Protective Snowboarder is $0.12. Under the Sea at 8 ink is the card to worry about, not to buy.
Build toward surviving it, and watch the Pocahontas shift line closely: Oyola credits that discovery with making the whole thing functional, and no public decklist exists yet to show you exactly how it works.
Track the list when it surfaces, and pay particular attention to how many one-drops it runs, because ADORING FANS is only as good as the hand that feeds it.
